Activities - how the charity spends its money
The BNHS was formed in 1946 and its main function is to record the flora and fauna of the county of Bedfordshire. Over 20 recorders cover many branches of natural history study and their annual reports are published in the Bedfordshire Naturalist. The Society depends on annual subscriptions and members receive quarterly newsletter Wild about Beds and programmes of meetings.

A. THE STUDY OF ALL BRANCHES OF NATURAL HISTORY, ESPECIALLY IN RELATION TO THE COUNTY OF BEDFORDSHIRE. B. TO MAINTAIN RECORDS OF THE OCCURRENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE COUNTY, PUBLISHING SUCH RECORDS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED DESIRABLE. C. TO PROTECT THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE COUNTY AND TO COLLABORATE WITH OTHER BODIES IN THE CONSERVATION OF AREAS OF PARTICULAR NATURAL HISTORY INTEREST.
