TO RELIEVE THE DISTRESS AN SUFFERING EXPERIENCED BY WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN GRAVELY OR PERSISTENTLY MALTREATED BY THEIR HUSBANDS OR BY THE FATHERS OF THEIR CHILDREN AND ANY CHILDREN OF SUCH WOMEN AND FOR THE RELIEF OF OTHER WOMEN AND FOR THE RELIEF OF OTHER WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE.
