FOR THE BENEFIT OF MEN AND WOMEN, TOGETHER WITH THEIR FAMILIES, WHO ARE SERVING OR WHO HAVE SERVED WITH HER MAJESTY'S MARINE AREMED FORCES OR WHO HAVE WORKES AT SEA OR IN MANUFACTURING OR SERVICE INDUSTRIES CONNECTED THERWITH, SUCH BENEFIT TO BE BY WAY OF:- (I) THE FURTHERANCE OF EDUCATION, LEARNING AND RESEARCH INCLUDING THE DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH AND THE PROVISIONS OF SCHOLARSHIPS, EXHIBITIONS, GRANTS AND OTHER FINANCIAL REWARDS; (II) THE RELIEF OF SUFFERING, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS, WHETHER FINANCIAL OR OTHERWISE.
