Charitable objects
The objects of the CIO are to provide grants to: a) Persons resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man who are poor, needy, incapacitated, infirm or otherwise in necessitous circumstances and the wives, widows, husbands, widowers, parents, children or other dependents of such persons with a preference for persons who are employed or have been employed in the motor trade or motor industry; b) Other charitable organisations located in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man with the purpose of providing support to the same persons as identified in a) above; c) Training institutions or similar organisations located in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man providing training and support related to the motor trade or motor industry to persons who are either employed or are seeking to be employed in the motor trade or motor industry; and d) Persons resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man who are poor, needy or otherwise in necessitous circumstances that are receiving training or support from institutions or organisations eligible for grant support under c) above.
