THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE RELIGIOUS AND OTHER CHARITABLE WORK FOR THE TIME BEING CARRIED ON IN THE COMMUNITY WITH PARTICULAR CONCERN FOR THE WELFARE OF THE UNSUPPORTED MOTHER AND CHILD AND OF THE ELDERLY. THE ORDER AIMS TO ENABLE ROMAN CATHOLIC WOMEN EFFECTIVELY TO PUT INTO PRACTICE SPIRITUAL AND CORPORAL WORKS OR MERCY. THE ORDER AIMS TO FURTHER THE WORK OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH BY SUPPORTING THE HIERARCHY AND CLERGY IN ALL MATTERS IN WHICH THE LAITY CAN TAKE PART. THE ORDER IS DEMOCRATIC AND STRICTLY NON-POLITICAL.
