TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF NEIGHBOURHOODS AND AREAS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ESPECIALLY THE NORTH WEST THEROF TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND AESTHETIC APPRECIATION OF THE ARTS AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME ACTIVITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS.
