(A) TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE 17TH/21ST LANCERS REGIMET AND TO MAINTAIN ITSHISTORIAL TRADITIONS AND ITS ESPRIT DE CORPS. (B) TO RELIEVE EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS WHO ARE SERVING OR WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE REGIMENT, THE 17TH LANCERS (DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE'S OWN) REGIMENT AND THE 21ST (EMPRESS OF INDIA'S) LANCERS REGIMENT AND THEIR DEPENDENTS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS.
