TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT, IMPROVEMENT AND PUBLIC ACCESS OR USE, OF ANY SITE OR BUILDING (INCLUDING ANY SITE OR BUILDING DEFINED IN 336(1) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990) OF PARTICULAR BEAUTY OR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST WHICH MAY EXIST IN AND AROUND THE TOWN OF SANDGATE INCLUDING NO. 51. SANDGATE HIGH STREET, SANDGATE AFORESAID, KNOWN SINCE 1883 AS THE VOLUNTEER FIRE STATION AND READING ROOM. B. TO PROMOTE THE ARTS, SCIENCE AND EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY FOSTERING A WIDER KNOWLEDGE AND INTEREST IN LOCAL HISTORY, ARCHITECTURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT. C. TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN THE TOWN OF SANDGATE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD THEREOF.
