Activities - how the charity spends its money
The charity awards about 30 to 35 scholarships a year to suitable girls and boys in HMC schools for appropriate gap year projects for their time between school and university. The awards are made to candidates of suitable character and promise who have some financial need, and who plan to complete a project that will benefit the community or communities in the country or countries visited.

Charitable objects
1) AWARDING TO PUPILS OF PROMISE, BOTH AS REGARDS THEIR ACADEMIC WORK AND GENERAL CONDUCT WHO HAVE BEEN EDUCATED AT ANY SCHOOL IN MEMBERSHIP OF THE HEADMASTERS' CONFERENCE, SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE CALLED "THE BULKELEY-EVANS SCHOLARSHIPS", TENABLE AT ANY UNIVERSITY IN ALL COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD, OR FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENABLING SUCH PERSONS TO PURSUE A COURSE OF STUDY OR A PROJECT OF EDUCATIONAL VALUE APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES IN ANY SUCH COUNTRY. 2) WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE SCHEME, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE FULL POWER TO MAKE RULES FOR THE AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDING RULES AS TO THE VALUE OF THE AWARDS AND THE QUALIFICATION, METHOD OF ASCERTAINMENT AND SELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR BENEFIT.
