(1) TO CREATE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE READING OF POETRY, LITERATURE AND CRITICISM AND TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE APPRECIATION, KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THESE ARTS FOR THE BENEFIT AND WELL BEING OF THE COMMUNITY. (2) TO TEACH AND INSTRUCT PEOPLE IN THE CRAFT OF WRITING. (3) TO PUBLISH IN MAGAZINES AND BOOKS NEW VERSE BY AN NEW TRANSLATIONS OF THE WORK OF ESTABLISHED POETS.
