THE RELIEF OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM CONDITIONS OF SEVERE OR PROLONGED DEPRESSION WHICH THREATENS THEIR MENTAL HEALTH OR EMOTIONAL STABILITY AND THE PROVISION FOR SUCH PERSONS OF THE CONSOLATION OF FRIENDSHIP AND WHERE NECESSARY PROVIDE ADVICE ON MEDICAL HELP. 2. THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES AND PREVENTION OF DEPRESSION AND THE DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS THEREOF. 3. TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION AND SAFEGUARDING OF MENTAL HEALTH.
