Charitable objects
2. OBJECTS THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION SHALL BE: A) TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WITHIN A THREE MILE RADIUS OF THE PROPERTY OCCUPIED BY THE CLOCK HOUSE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION APPROVED BY THE CHARITY COMMISSION ON THE 8TH AUGUST 1997 (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE 'AREA OF BENEFIT') WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX OR POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND INHABITANTS IN THE COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND PROVIDE FACILITIES SERVICES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS. B) TO ESTABLISH OR TO SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY CENTRE (HEREINAFTER CALLED 'THE CENTRE') AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE, OR TO CO-OPERATE WITH THE LOCAL STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A CENTRE FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE ASSOCIATION AND ITS CONSTITUENT BODIES IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTIVES. THE ASSOCIATION AIMS TO BE NON-DISCRIMINATORY TOWARDS ALL PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF RACE, AGE, DISABILITY, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR RELIGION. IT IS NON-PARTY IN POLITICS AND NON-SECTARIAN IN RELIGION. THE ASSOCIATION SHALL HAVE THE POWER TO AFFILIATE TO COMMUNITY MATTERS, (THE FEDERATION OF COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS) AND TO OTHER ORGANISATIONS WITH SIMILAR CHARITABLE OBJECTS.
