Skilgate is a small rural village located on the edge of Exmoor and has a small but diverse group of residents ranging from 1 year to 90 years of age. Skilgate village hall provides an important meeting place for the residents and gives them the opportunity to interact in a range of recreational, social and fund raising activities. Various fund raising events are held to maintain the hall.
