Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND DOCTRINES OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND: (1) TO PROVIDE A SITE FOR A REGISTERED SCHOOL (SUCH SCHOOL TO BE A CHURCH SCHOOL) SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE EDUCATION ACTS, WHICH PROVIDES RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCTRINES OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND (WHICH SITE IS AT THE DATE OF THIS SCHEME IS PROVIDED ON LAND SET OUT IN PARTS 2 -4 OF THE SCHEDULE). (2) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION (INCLUDING VOCATIONAL, SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF THE BENEFICIARIES THROUGH THE PROVISION OF DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT. (3) TO PROVIDE BENEFITS AT THE SCHOOL WHICH ARE NOT PROVIDED BY OR NOT REQUIRED TO BE PROVIDED FROM LOCAL OR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT GRANTS OR OTHERWISE FROM EXCHEQUER FUNDS. (4) AS REGARDS THE BROTHERHOOD HALL INSOFAR AS THE SAME IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THE PURPOSES SET OUT IN CLAUSE 4(1) – 4(3) ABOVE TO USE THE SAME FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY IN THE COUNTY OF WEST SUSSEX AND BRIGHTON AND HOVE BEING WITHIN A 20 MILE RADIUS OF THE TOWN OF STEYNING AND SURROUNDING AREA FOR THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR EDUCATION, RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID COMMUNITY PROVIDED THAT NOTHING IN THIS CLAUSE 4(4) SHALL PREVENT THE TRUSTEES FROM DISPOSING OF THE BROTHERHOOD HALL FOR VALUE SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE CHARITIES ACT 2011 IN WHICH CASE THE PROCEEDS OF ANY SUCH DISPOSAL SHALL BE TREATED AS INVESTMENT PERMANENT ENDOWMENT AND APPLIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CLAUSE 10.
