(I) IN MAKING GRANTS FOR EDUCATION AND THE PAYMENT OF PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL OR INDUSTRIAL APPRENTICESHIP FEES TO THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF PERSONS SERVING OR HAVING AT ANY TIME SERVED IN THE ROYAL ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERS. (II) IN MAKING GRANTS FOR MAINTENANCE DURING AN APPRENTICESHIP TO ANY SUCH SONS AND DAUGHTERS AS AFORESAID AS MAY FOR THE TIME BEING BE IN NEED OF CHARITABLE ASSISTANCE OR BENEFIT.
