Charitable objects

THE GOVERNORS SHALL ARRANGE FOR A PUBLIC LECTURE TO BE KNOWN AS THE JAWAHARLAL NEHRU MEMORIAL LECTURE TO BE GIVEN ANNUALLY ON SUCH DATE AS THE GOVERNORS IN THEIR DISCRETION SHALL DECIDE PREFERABLY BY A DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR SCIENTIST OR ADMINISTRATOR CHOSEN BY THEM AND PREFERABLY ON SOME ASPECT OF COMMONWEALTH OR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS. THE LECTURE SHALL IF POSSIBLE BE GIVEN IN THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE MASTER AND FELLOWS OF TRINITY COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE. THE GOVERNORS SHALL ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE KNOWN AS JAWAHARLAL NEHRU MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE FROM TIME TO TIME AWARDED TO STUDENTS OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP WHO WISH TO SPECIALISE IN THE STUDY OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY OR THE HUMANITIES AT A BRITISH UNIVERSITY. THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE AWARDED AT SUCH INTERVALS AND AS A RESULT OF SUCH EXAMINATION INTO THE CANDIDATES ACADEMIC ABILITY FINANCIAL NEED OR OTHERWISE AND IN SUCH MANNER AND SHALL BE HELD AND ENJOYED FOR SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED BY REGULATIONS MADE BY THE GOVERNORS. THE GOVERNORS MAY IF THEY THINK FIT SET UP IN INDIA A SELECTION COMMITTEE TO BE COMPOSED OF SUCH PERSONS WITH SUCH QUALIFICATIONS AS THE GOVERNORS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK PROPER AND MAY DELEGATE TO SUCH SELECTION COMMITTEE THE SELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS IN ACCORDANCE WITH REGULATIONS MADE BY THE GOVERNORS AS AFORESAID.
