TO ADVANCE THE SECONDARY EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE BY ASSISTING THE SOUTHERN AFRICAN EDUCATIONAL TRUST CALLED THE AFRICAN SCHOLARS' FUND IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION DETERMINE PARTICULARLY IN WAYS WHICH MAY RESULT IN THE AWARD TO SUCH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR BASIC FEES, EQUIPMENT AND BOOKS.
