Charitable objects

FOR THE BENEFIT OF ELDERLY PEOPLE RESIDENT OR WORKING IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK AND SURROUNDING AREAS (HEREINAFTER CALLED "SOUTHWARK") WHO ARE IRISH OR OF IRISH DESCENT BY:- (1) RELIEVING SUCH PEOPLE WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF POVERTY, SICKNESS AND DISTRESS OR WHO ARE OTHERWISE IN NEED; AND (2) PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR THE RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF SUCH PEOPLE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND SO THAT THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE MAY BE IMPROVED.
