Charitable objects
(1) TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN, IMPROVE AND ADVANCE EDUCATION BY ENCOURAGING AND STIMULATING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE HISTORY AND CONTEMPORARY DEVELOPMENT OF EAST LONDON AND GENERALLY TO CULTIVATE AND IMPROVE THE STUDY OF EAST LONDON, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF HERITAGE BASED ACTIVITIES, USING MEDIUMS SUCH AS ART, DRAMA, EXHIBITIONS, PUBLICATIONS, THEATRE LITERATURE, DANCE AND MUSIC; AND (11) TO PROMOTE GOOD RACE RELATIONS BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS ENGAGED IN ANY OF THE LAST MENTIONED ACTIVITIES.
