A)TO PROMOTE FOR FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND FOR THE BETTER PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC ORDER, THE PROVISION OF A MEDIATION SERVICE FOR PERSONS OVER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS, ORGANISATIONS, AUTHORITIES OR GROUPS IN THE AREA COVERED BY MID AND EAST DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL, EXETER CITY COUNCIL, TORBAY COUNCIL AND TEIGNBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL, INVOLVED IN OR LIKELY TO BECOME INVOLVED IN DISPUTE FOR INTER-PERSONAL CONFLICT WHERE THAT DISPUTE OR CONFLICTS RESULTS FROM OR MAY LEAD TO ACTS OF NUISANCE, VANDALISM, RACIAL ABUSE, UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY, BREACH OF THE PEACE OR BREAK DOWN OF PUBLIC ORDER, AND TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SAID AREA IN THE PURPOSES AND METHODS OF MEDIATION AND, IN PARTICULAR, IN THE NATURE AND CAUSES OF SUCH DISPUTES OR CONFLICTS.
