Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Charity exists to cherish the history and beauty of St. Mary's Church Stoke by Nayland, a Grade 1 listed building over 500 years old, and to assist the PCC in the maintenance of its fabric and churchyard. It is a non-denominational organisation whose purpose is to raise funds to help preserve the building for future generations. The church features in paintings by Constable and others.

THE FRIENDS IS ESTABLISHED TO HELP THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL TO CHERISH THE HISTORY AND BEAUTY OF ST MARY'S CHURCH, STOKE BY NAYLAND , IN THE DIOCESE OF ST EDMUNDSBURY AND IPSWICH (HEREINAFTER CALLED 'THE CHURCH') , TO ASSIST IN THE MAINTENANCE OF ITS FABRIC AND ITS CHURCHYARD, AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT IT AS A PLACE OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP.
