MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED 20TH JULY 1998
Charitable objects
(A) (1) TO ADVANCE THE ORTHODOX JEWISH RELIGION, IN PARTICULAR AS PRACTISED BY SEPHARDI JEWS, IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD; (11) TO FURTHER EDUCATION, INCLUDING RELIGIOUS LEARNING, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORTHODOX JEWISH RELIGION, IN PARTICULAR AS PRACTISED BY SEPHARDI JEWS, IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD; (111) TO RELIEVE JEWISH PEOPLE, IN PARTICULAR SEPHARDI JEWS, IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD IN CASES OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS; AND (IV) TO FURTHER ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE GENERAL BENEFIT OF JEWISH PEOPLE, IN PARTICULAR SEPHARDI JEWS, IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD. (B) IN THE OBJECTS (1) "SEPHARDI JEWS" MEAN JEWS WHOSE ANCESTORS ORIGINATED IN THE COUNTRIES OF THE MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AFRICA AND SPAIN (INCLUDING JEWS WHOSE PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS WERE BORN IN THE TERRITORY OF MOROCCO, ALGERIA, LIBYA, TUNISIA, EGYPT, SYRIA, TURKEY, GREECE, ITALY, BULGARIA, YUGOSLAVIA, IRAN, IRAQ, INDIA, PAKISTAN, BURMA, GEORGIA, THE CAUCASUS AREA OF RUSSIA, AZERBAIJAN, UZBEKISTAN OR ISRAEL); AND (11)" THE ORTHODOX JEWISH RELIGION, IN PARTICULAR AS PRACTISED BY SEPHARDI JEWS" MEANS JUDAISM AS DESCRIBED IN THE WORKS OF ORTHODOX SEPHARDI AUTHORITIES SUCH AS MAIMONIDES, RABBI YOSEF CARO AND RABBI OVADIAH YOSEF.
