TO REPAIR PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE COMPTON ABDALE WAR MEMORIAL ERECTED TO THOSE VILLAGERS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO FREEDOM AND TO PROVIDE SUCH FUNDS FOR ITS CONTINUOUS UPKEEP AND THAT OF ITS IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS IN SUCH WAYS AS SHALL BE CHARITABLE AT LAW.
