THE KNC IS A COMMUNITY RESOURCE FACILITY PROVIDING ADVICE ON REGENERATION AND HOUSING ISSUES. THE CENTRE ALSO PROVIDES AN IT ONLINE SUITE, FITNESS SUITE, COMMUNITY CAFE, OVER 55 CLUB, SPORTS HALL, DANCE STUDIO, AFTERSCHOOL AND YOUTH CLUB AND VARIOUS TRAINING PROGRAMMES.

MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED 22 JANUARY 1999 AS AMENDED BY SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS DATED 20 SEPTEMBER 2001 AND 25 MARCH 2002.
Charitable objects
1) TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF KIRKDALE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD THEREOF WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR POLITICAL RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION, AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS. 2) TO ESTABLISH OR SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY CENTRE (HEREINAFTER CALLED 'THE GORDON') AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE SAME, WHETHER ALONE OR IN CO-OPERATION WITH ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY OR OTHER PERSON OR BODY IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS. 3) TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE GOOD HEALTH OF THE SAID INHABITANTS. 4) TO PRESERVE, PROTECT AND MAINTAIN THE LISTED BUILDING KNOWN AS THE GORDON FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE. 5) THE ASSOCIATION SHALL BE NON-PARTY IN POLITICS AND NON-SECTARIAN.
