Charitable objects

THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUND AND ITS INCOME UPON TRUST TO APPLY THEM FOR THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) IN TARANAKI PROVINCE NEW ZEALAND ( THE AREA OF BENEFIT) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, INPARTICULAR, BY THE PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS UPON THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:- A) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE AWARDED BY THE TRUSTEES AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE PRINCIPALS OF THE STATE SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE PROVINCE OF TARANAKI B) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO ATTEND OTAGO UNIVERSITY FROM THE TARANAKI PROVINCE C) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS SO LONG AS THE HOLDER SHALL ATTEND UNIVERSITY AND MAY IN THE ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE TRUSTEES BE EXTENDED FOR A FURTHER TERM OF ONE YEAR D) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE CONDITIONS HEREBY SPECIFIED AND TO SUCH OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME PRESCRIBE AND THE TRUSTEES MAY AT ANY TIME REVOKE OR ALTER SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ADOPT NEW TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN PLACE THEREOF E) ALL INCOME WHICH MAY ACCRUE UPON THE AFORESAID TRUST FUND AND WHICH IS NOT PAID OR APPLIED FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE SAID SCHOLARSHIPS IN ANY YEAR SHALL BE ADDED TO THE CAPITAL OF THE TRUST FUND BUT MAY BE APPLIED IN FUTURE YEARS TOWARDS ANY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED HEREUNDER F) THE SCHOLARSHIP SHALL COVER THE COST OF TRAVEL TO AND FROM DUNEDIN, ALL UNIVERSITY FEES AND BOARD AND ACCOMMODATION. WHERE A SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER IS MARRIED, NO ASSISTANCE SHALL BE EXTENDED IN RESPECT OF FARES AND EXPENSES OF THE WIFE OR CHILDREN IF ANY. ANY SCHOLARSHIP SHALL BE OF SUCH AMOUNT OR AMOUNTS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION DECIDE AND SHALL BE PAID WHOLLY FROM THE INCOME OF THE TRUST FUND. THE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EACH YEAR SHALL BE PAID BY ONE SUM AT THE COMMENCEMENT OF EACH UNIVERSITY YEAR
