(I) TO RELIEVE PERSONS SUFFERING FROM OBESITY AND WEIGHT RELATED PROBLEMS BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR SUCH PERSONS AND THOSE INVOLVED IN THEIR PRIMARY CARE OR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE. (II) TO CARRY OUT RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES, EFFECTS AND TREATMENT OF OBESITY AND WEIGHT RELATED PROBLEMS AND TO ENSURE THE DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL KNOWLEDGE GAINED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.
