Activities - how the charity spends its money
The NDRT aims to restore the station and available surrounding area to how it was in the1950s/60s.To create workshops for the repair and restoration of railway vehicles, within a working railway.To include the renovation of station buildings, platforms and railway infrastructure, provision of a small museum and the relaying of a section of track, for the benefit of local residents and visitors.

THE PRESERVATION RESTORATION AND USE OF THAT SECTION OF THE RAILWAY FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE SOMERSET AND DORSET JOINT RAILWAY RUNNING BETWEEN BLANDFORD FORUM IN DORSET AND TEMPLECOMBE IN SOMERSET ("THE RAILWAY") 2. THE PRESERVATION AND DISPLAY OF THE HISTORIC ARTEFACTS RELICS AND DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE RAILWAY OR RAILWAYS GENERALLY 3. THE CARRYING OUT OF RESEARCH INTO THE HISTORY AND OPERATION OF THE RAILWAY OR RAILWAYS GENERALLY AND THE STUDY OF LOCAL HISTORY IN RELATION THERETO AND THE PUBLICATION OF OTHER DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH AND STUDY 4. THE EDUCATION OF MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE HISTORY AND OPERATION OF RAILWAYS GENERALLY AND RAILWAY IN PARTICULAR 5.
