Foundations provide low cost, second hand furniture to people in need in Gateshead. We collect furniture free of charge from residents within the borough and surrounding areas, diverting them from landfill. Foundations offer voluntary opportunities in our warehouse, showroom and office.

(A) TO RELIEVE EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY THOSE PERSONS WITHIN THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF GATESHEAD ("THE AREA OF BENEFIT") WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY THE PROVISION OF FURNITURE AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND ACCESSORIES. (B) THE RELIEF OF ELDERLY AND/OR DISABLED PEOPLE BY THE PROVISION OF A GARDENING SERVICE FOR THOSE WHO REQUIRE SUCH A SERVICE.
