Charitable objects
1. TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR IN THE CITY OF SHEFFIELD AND ELSEWHERE ("THE AREA OF BENEFIT") THE PROVISION OF SERVICES DIRECTED TOWARDS THE EFFICIENCY OF THE POLICE AND MEDIATION, RECONCILIATION AND ACHIEVING RESTORATIVE JUSTICE BETWEEN VICTIMS OF CRIME AND OFFENDERS, WITH A VIEW (A) TO THE PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC ORDER AND (B) TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE THROUGH THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE WELL-BEING OF SUCH VICTIMS AND THE REHABILITATION OF SUCH OFFENDERS 2. TO REDUCE THE DISTRESS, POVERTY AND DISADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS ON VICTIMS AND WITNESSES OF CRIME AND OTHER FORMS OF HARMFUL BEHAVIOUR INCLUDING THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF SUCH PERSONS AND OTHERS AFFECTED WHO ARE IN NEED; 3. TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND GREATER PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN THE PREVENTION AND SOLUTION OF CRIME 4. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT IN THE METHODS OF SUCH MEDIATION, CONCILIATION AND ACHIEVING RESTORATIVE JUSTICE, THE NEEDS OF VICTIMS AND OFFENDERS FOR SUCH SERVICES, AND THE MEANS OF MANAGING SUCH SERVICES 5. TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND AWARENESS BY RESEARCH INTO ISSUES PRIMARILY RELATING TO VICTIMS OF CRIME, WITNESSES AND THEIR FAMILIES AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
