Mainstay works with vulnerable adults who have mental health issues. Mainstay works to raise awareness about mental health issues and provides community hub social support and advice, mentoring, short courses, skills for work, counselling services to enable service users to engage with their community. Mainstay works with people to build stronger communities.

TO PROMOTE THE PROVISION OF HIGH QUALITY CARE FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS LIVING IN OR RECEIVING SERVICES IN YORK AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS AND OTHER REGIONS WITHIN THE UK IN ANY WAY THAT IS CHARITABLE IN LAW, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A PROVIDING A FORUM FOR CURRENT AND FORMER USERS OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES; B PROMOTING THE INTERESTS OF CURRENT AND FORMER USERS OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES; C PROMOTING A MORE POSITIVE AND UNDERSTANDING ATTITUDE TOWARDS PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS D CONTRIBUTE TO THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
