TO PROMOTE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE CITY OF LEEDS AND YORKSHIRE WITH A VIEW TO THE PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC ORDER, THE PROVISION OF SERVICES DIRECTED TOWARDS MEDIATION, CONCILIATION AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BETWEEN PERSONS, ORGANISATIONS AND GROUPS WHO ARE INVOLVED IN DISPUTES OR INTERPERSONAL CONFLICTS WHERE THAT DISPUTE OR CONFLICT RESULTS FROM OR MAY LEAD TO ACTS OF NUISANCE, VANDALISM, RACIAL ABUSE, BREACH OF THE PEACE, ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR, WORKPLACE GRIEVANCES AND COMPLAINTS. 2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CITY OF LEEDS AND YORKSHIRE IN METHODS OF MEDIATION, CONCILIATION AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND IN PARTICULAR THE NATURE AND CAUSES OF SUCH DISPUTES AND THE MEANS OF MANAGING IT.
