THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS BY MAINTAINING, DEVELOPING AND PROMOTING THE SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES OF RESUSCITATION OFFICERS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC; AND THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF PUBLIC HEALTH BY THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE TO OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF DEATHS FROM CORONARY AND OTHER HEART DISEASE, CARDIAC ARREST AND ANY OTHER ACUTE MEDICAL CONDITIONS IMMEDIATELY THREATENING TO LIFE.
