Charitable objects

THE OBJECTS OF THE TRUST ARE: TO RELIEVE THE FINANCIAL NEEDS, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS OF DISADVANTAGED PEOPLES OF SRI LANKA, ACROSS THE WORLD (THE "AREA OF BENEFIT" BEING DEFINED IN CLAUSE 11.1) AND TO ADVANCE THEIR EDUCATION BY SUCH CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT; AND TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF SUCH PEOPLES (DEFINED IN CLAUSE 11.1) AS THE TRUSTEES DETERMINE FROM TIME TO TIME. THE TRUSTEES WILL APPLY THE INCOME AND THE CAPITAL OF THE TRUST IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER, WHERE IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO SO: (I) THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED AND THOSE WITH LEARNING AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (II) THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION IN AND THROUGH MUSIC, MEDIA AND CULTURAL SKILLS, IN PARTICULAR FOR TEENAGERS AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE AND THEIR ABILITY TO PLAY A FULLER PART IN SOCIETY. (III) SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE APPLICATIONS OF INCOME AND CAPITAL AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT.
