TO PRESERVE FOR THE PEOPLE OF RICHMONDSHIRE AND OF THE NATION, THE HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL HERITAGE THAT MAY EXIST IN AND AROUND RICHMONDSHIRE IN THE COUNTY OF NORTH YORKSHIRE IN BUILDINGS AND LAND (INCLUDING ANY BUILDING AS DEFINED BY SECTION 336 OF THE TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990) OF PARTICULAR BEAUTY OR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST.
TO PROMOTE EDUCATION AND THE ARTS IN SUCH CHARITABLE WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES CONSIDER APPROPRIATE FROM TIME TO TIME, TO COMPLEMENT THE PRESERVATION OF THE SAID HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL HERITAGE.
