1. TO SUPPORT THE PARENTS/CARERS OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 2. TO SUPPORT CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 3. TO WORK WITH VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS INVOLVED WITH PARENTS/CARERS OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS/DISABILITIES AND THOSE WORKING WITH THE CHILDREN THEMSELVES, AND TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL GROUPS. 4. TO LIASE WITH LOCAL PROVIDERS OF EDUCATION AND OTHER SERVICES BOTH STATUTORY AND NON-STATUTORY, TO IMPROVE MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING SO THAT POLICIES AND PRACTICE ARE AS EFFECTIVE AS POSSIBLE.
