TO PRESERVE THE OPEN LAND FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, RESIDENTS OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON, TO MAINTAIN AND PROTECT THE PARK AS A GREEN PLEASANT HEALTHY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PUBLIC AND TO ENCOURAGE ITS USE AS AN EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL RESOURCE BY SCHOOLS, CHILDREN AND OTHERS, AND TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF THE HABITAT OF NATIVE SPECIES OF FLORA AND FAUNA FOUND ON THE SITE.
