Charitable objects

(I) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL) OF THE INHABITANTS OR THE AREA OF BENEFIT BY : (A) AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS, EXHIBITIONS, BURSARIES OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TENABLE AT THE COLLEGE (OR OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT APPROVED BY THE TRUSTEES) TO PERSONS OF ANY AGE WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND WHO ARE IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (B) PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (WHETHER BY WAY OF LOAN OR OUTRIGHT PAYMENT), OUTFITS, UNIFORMS, CLOTHING, TOOLS, MATERIALS, INSTRUMENTS OR BOOKS TO SUCH PERSONS DURING THEIR ENROLMENT AS STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE (C) AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS GRANTS OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TO ENABLE THEN TO TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE COLLEGE AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THEIR EDUCATION DURING THEIR ENROLMENT AS STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE (INCLUDING TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM) (D) AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS GRANTS TO ENABLE THEM TO OBTAIN CHILDCARE SUPPORT DURING THEIR ENROLMENT AS STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE (E) PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ATTENDANCE ON RESIDENTIAL COURSES AND FOR RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE-TIME ACTIVITIES FOR SUCH PERSONS DURING THEIR ENROLMENT AS STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE (F) PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT WHICH IS TO BE USED FOR THE BENEFITS OF STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE (G) HELPING TO LINK IN COLLABORATIVE VENTURES THE INHABITANTS, THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS (II) TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT (FOR WHICH PROVISION IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY MADE FROM PUBLIC RATES AND TAXES) THROUGH SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL THINK FIT. (III) IF AND TO THE EXTENT THAT IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES THE TRUST FUND IS NOT NEEDED FOR THE ABOVE PURPOSES THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD AND APPLY IT FOR SUCH OF THE GENERAL PURPOSES OF THE COLLEGE AS THEY SHALL THINK APPROPRIATE.
