The Association studies cinema buildings, campaigning for the preservation of the finest examples. It is consulted by planning authorities and advises other concerned heritage groups. Visits for members are arranged to cinemas in Britain and abroad and a regular newsletter and fully illustrated annual is published. An extensive archive is maintained.
