TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF MANCHESTER AND SURROUNDING BOROUGHS AND IN PARTICULAR FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: 1 TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND SICKNESS AND DISTRESS 2 TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING 3 TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT GOOD HEALTH 4 TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR THE RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF THE SAID INHABITANTS IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE
