THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUND AND ITS INCOME UPON TRUST TO APPLY THEM FOR THE THE PROMOTION OF INVENTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY PROVIDING GRANTS, LOANS OR OTHER ASSISTANCE ON APPROPRIATE TERMS TO INDIVIDUALS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM IN ORDER TO ENABLE THEM TO DEVELOP NEW AND INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS AND PROCESSES WHICH IN THE REASONABLE ESTIMATION OF THE APPLICANTS WILL RESULT IN SUCH BENEFIT BY REASON OF BEING DIRECTED TO THE RELIEF OF DISABILITY, PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY, PROTECTION OF LIVES AND PROPERTY, ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT OR THE GENERAL PROMOTION OF INDUSTRY.
