Activities - how the charity spends its money

Serving the inner-south Manchester community through ongoing networking, advocacy and mobilising. Current projects include Out of Africa & 9PointTV. From 2003 - 2012 we ran a Peace Week every spring with work in schools, a family lantern-lit peace parade, OSBA Peace Awards & more. In 2009 Carisma launched a new community radio station called 'PeaceFM', broadcasting on 90.1fm across Manchester.

Charitable objects

1. THE RELIEF OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED IN THE INNER SOUTH MANCHESTER AREA UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS IN PARTICULAR THOSE WHO ARE AT RISK OF BECOMING INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES BY PROVIDING ADVICE, SUPPORT AND INFORMATION THROUGH NETWORKING WITH EXISTING COMMUNITY GROUPS IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE. 2. TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY OF INNER SOUTH MANCHESTER IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND HELP MEET THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY
