TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE INHABITANTS OF CALNE AND DISTRICT AND THE PUBLIC AT LARGE BY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MUSEUM AND/OR HERITAGE CENTRE AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATIONS IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS.
