1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE SOMALI COMMUNITY BOTH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND EAST AFRICA, IN PARTICULAR THE LANGUAGES, THE CULTURE AND THE HISTORY OF THE SOMALI PEOPLES. 2. THE RELIEF OF THE SOMALI COMMUNITIES, BOTH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND EAST AFRICA WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF POVERTY, SICKNESS, DISABLEMENT OR OLD AGE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING TRAINING, ADVICE, REPRESENTATION, COUNSELLING, TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION WITH REGARD TO WELFARE RIGHTS, HOUSING, HEALTH, ELDERLY CARE AND OTHER ESSENTIAL ISSUES. 3. THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION FOR THE SAID SOMALI COMMUNITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITION OF LIFE.
