Charitable objects
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN THE AREAS COVERED BY HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM AND THEIR NEIGHBOURHOODS (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE AREA OF BENEFIT) (1) TO PROMOTE EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY AND GOOD RACE RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT RACIAL AND ETHNIC GROUPS; AND (2) TO PROMOTE THE SECTIONS OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR WORKING WITH OR FOR THE BENEFIT OF PEOPLE FROM ETHNIC MINORITIES IN SUCH WAYS AS THE DIRECTORS SHALL THINK FIT, IN PARTICULAR BY: (I) THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A RESOURCE FOR THE ETHNIC MINORITY VOLUNTARY SECTOR, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF TRAINING, ADVICE AND SUPPORT; AND (II) FACILITATING PARTNERSHIP AND CO-OPERATION IN THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR. "VOLUNTARY SECTOR" IS DEFINED AS "CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS". "CHARITIES" ARE ORGANISATIONS THAT ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. "VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS" ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS THAT ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION (OR OTHER TYPE OF GOVERNING DOCUMENT) TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY ORGANISATIONS...
