(2) THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OR PROVISION OF PUBLIC AMENITIES IN AREAS OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEPRIVATION, IN THE INTERESTS OF URBAN AND RURAL REGENERATION, THROUGH THE SUPPORT AND PROMOTION OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN THE DESIGN OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND PUBLIC SPACES.
