Charitable objects
A) TO WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE OF DEVON AND THE NATION AT LARGE WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF AGE, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID PEOPLE AND NATIONAL AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID PEOPLE. B) TO ESTABLISH POLTIMORE HOUSE AND GROUNDS AS A CENTRE FOR COMMUNITY USE AND BENEFIT, WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO OBJECT (A) TO PROVIDE THERE SUCH OF A PERFORMANCE SPACE, AND MEANS OF PUBLIC RECREATION AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE SAME (WHETHER ALONE OR IN CO-OPERATION WITH ANY NATIONAL OR LOCAL AUTHORITY OR PERSON OR BODY) IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS. C) TO PROTECT, RESTORE, AND PRESERVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC POLTIMORE HOUSE AND GROUNDS AND SUCH OTHER ASSOCIATED BUILDINGS OR PLACES AS ARE OF SPECIAL HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, COMMUNITY OR ENVIRONMENTAL INTEREST. D) TO PROMOTE SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED.
