Charitable objects
1. THE PROMOTION OF ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF BOWBURN, OLD QUARRINGTON, TURSDALE AND PARKHILL IN THE CITY OF DURHAM DISTRICT AND SURROUNDING AREA (HEREAFTER KNOWN AS THE AREA OF BENEFIT) WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS, THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR RECREATION, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES AND MORAL AND SPIRITUAL WELFARE. 2. TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, THE IMPROVEMENT OF EXISTING FACILITIES AND TO DEVELOP AND IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT IN AN EFFORT TO ENHANCE THE CONDITION OF LIFE FOR THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT.
