Charitable objects

2A) THE FRIENDS IS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN WHO HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS USING THE SYSTEM KNOWN AS 'PORTAGE HOME TEACHING'. B) IN FURTHERANCE OF THE SAID OBJECTIVES, BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE 'FRIENDS' MAY - I) SUPPORT SUPERIORS AND PORTAGE HOME VISITORS IN ADDITION TO THE FAMILIES OF THE CHILDREN IN RECEIPT OF A SERVICE FROM DEVON PORTAGE AND FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES AS LAID DOWN BY THE NATIONAL PORTAGE ASSOCIATION; II) ASSIST IN RAISING FUNDS TO PROVIDE SPECIALISED, EDUCATIONAL EQUIPMENT/TOYS AND OTHER OPPORTUNITIES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE STAFF OF DEVON PORTAGE CENTRAL, TO COMPLIMENT AND ASSIST APPROPRIATE PROGRAMMES BEING DEVELOPED AND CARRIED OUT; III) ASSIST WITH TRAINING AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES.
