THE PROMOTION OF GENERAL CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY IN COLCHESTER AND THE SURROUNDING AREA (HEREINAFTER CALLED "THE AREA OF BENEFIT"), IN PARTICULAR THE PROMOTION OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR AND OF VOLUNTEERING BY PROVIDING SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS OPERATING WITHIN THE THE AREA OF BENEFIT, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY OR ECONOMICALLY EXCLUDED, AND BRINGING PEOPLE AND ORGANISATIONS TOGETHER IN A COMMON EFFORT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SAID COMMUNITY
