THE FRIENDS IS ESTABLISHED TO HELP THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL TO CHERISH AND PRESERVE THE HISTORY AND BEAUTY OF ST MARY'S CHURCH, POLSTEAD, IN THE DIOCESE OF ST EDMUNDSBURY AND IPSWICH (HEREINAFTER CALLED "THE CHURCH"), TO ASSIST IN THE MAINTENANCE OF ITS FABRIC AND ITS CHURCHYARD, AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT IT AS A PLACE OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP, HEREINAFTER CALLED "THE OBJECTS"
